Just wondering if anyone can help, surely someones tried this..

Basically have tried playing to music from my computer through speakers but the drums are too loud and I get lost, time wise...
(Speakers are connected via a USB socket. Logitech AudioHUB speakers)

So I got some wireless headphones which connect through the headphone jack. (Conexant high definition output, onboard the laptop)

I want to have them BOTH playing through both outputs, so I can hear the music right in my ear, and my 'audience' (mates lol) can hear the music as well..

I am running Vista, can't see a way of having them both on, or having some kind of mixer set up??

Have read differing posts that its a hardware issue, when I have the headphones in the jack, a switch makes it so only the headphone has output..any thoughts or suggestions?

With a mixer you have the opportunity to have both outputs available. One for the phones and the other for the monitor speakers. Here are some for example.

That was what i thought, I was hoping some technological whizzkid could tell me how to get the audio going out of two outputs on the laptop without having to shell out £££...

Does anyone know if I have a USB Audiohub (speaker system), can I also simultaneously use a USB headphone, giving the same sound to both??

Then you must be looking for a USB splitter.

Yep seen those, HOWEVER..

Seems to me like it's gonna cost you a little $$$ for a mixer after all.

Yes, gutted. Spoken to a bit of a whizz and apparently I need an IO device (input/output device)...

£100+

Getting an I/O device is pricey.

If you have a headphone/speaker output on your laptop, the results will be the same with a "Y" type splitter. The splitter plugs to the output of your laptop and the 2 female ends are 1 for the headphones and 1 for the speaker amp inputs.

In this way you can adjust the volume for the headphones.
Now if your speakers are self amplified, then you can adjust the volume controls on them. Same applies with a stereo amp.

haha, true, it would probably be cheaper to get a Y splitter and a new speaker system that runs from a jack instead of a USB?

I would never buy USB speakers.

Now I know why you need an I/O.
