I have five cymbal set ups, heres one:
Zildjian:
Smallest hats in Zildjian ,19" Trash Crash, 21" Sweet Ride and 20" crash of doom (as my ride)
Drums: any with these sizes:
6", 8", 10", 12", 13" with two 16x16 kicks. two singles of my current pedal.
Hardware: a PdP or Gibraltar rack set down really low, and the booms clamped directly to the rack...

And thats about it...

My dream kit will be bubinga stave shells with die cast hoops, tube lugs, and clear heads to show the wood on the inside!
10 x 12 and 11 x 13 mounted toms, 16 x 16 floor tom, 14 x 22 bass, and 6-1/2 x 14 snare---like my current kit
Cymbals will be a mix of Zildjian and Sabian
Hardware will be the sturdiest I can find and include the least number of stands possible!
I want to pack a lot of punch into a small package!
Maybe a brass piccolo snare for a little extra pop!

One of everything, so I can pick and choose the setup for each gig or session that I do.


Seriously, though, the kit I have is the closest I have come to my dream setup.
It's a late 80s Yamaha Recording Custom.
20x16" kick, 8", 10" and 12" rack toms, 14 and 16" floor toms. I have a few different snare drums to use as well.

The reason I call it my dream kit is because it's so versatile. I have done many different gigs on it, from jazz to rock to country and just about everything else. It's all in the tuning...
