Yamaha DFP 9500???

Anybody have any experience with this pedal, price seems fair and i have heard that Yamha pedal are very underrated compared to some of the other popular names.

Re: Yamaha DFP 9500???

Though I haven't played that particular pedal, I've used a Yamaha pedal since 1987 (now one of my backups).

It looks like they offer the 9500 (doubles and single) in Direct Drive, Chain Drive and Strap Drive - all of which have their pros and cons.

I would suggest going to a large percussion store (i.e. Atlanta Pro Percussion) and try out a variety of pedals, including the Yamaha's. In construction, the Yamaha DPF9500C (Double Chain Drive) looks very similar to a Gibraltar I've played - which was a very serviceable pedal setup.

Thumbs up Re: Yamaha DFP 9500???

These new foot pedal models will provide simple, easy and stable setting with comfortable playability to meet all kinds of music style. The frame of the pedal is designed to be uncluttered and ergonomic whilst giving the right amount of set up options. These include a new spring tension adjuster with a clever self lock feature, a simple angle adjuster for the Beater, Footboard adjuster and a simple hoop clamp mechanism. All the adjustments can be made using a drum key. All the pedals come with a light but protective carrying case which has enough room to also fit the pedal accessories safely and securely.

models are DFP9500D, DFP9500CL,DFP9500C

prices range from $267.85 Euro 318 £271.29, £268.69

Re: Yamaha DFP 9500???

The DFP-9500 is a bifold alternation drive bifold pedal, with an alternative alloyed nylon belt included if you adopt the feel of a strap-drive pedal. The DFP-9500C has adjustments for beater angle, footboard angle and bounce tension. The pedal frames accept balance confined casting into them beneath the rocker shafts to annihilate flex.
