Better yet, pray for me!
I've been a member here for over a year but rarely make the time to visit.
Here's a little history. I played drums way,way back in high school and was in the typical garage band or two. Nothing serious. When I got married 28 years ago, I sold my drums because life with a new wife and children took over. I never stopped tapping on my steering wheel and gas pedals(and any other object) and played air drums to almost every song I heard.
Several years ago, I began listening to Christian music and attending a church that played contemporary Christian music. WOW! Church was fun!! As most drummers, I found myself watching the drummer the and wishing I was the one playing the whole time. I've prayed hard for several years that God would allow me to use the talent He has given me to bring people closer to Him. Well, I finally had the opportunity to audition with the praise and worship band yesterday. My first time behind an acoustic set in over 25 years!! (I bought a real cheap electric set a few years ago that I have been practicing on) All in all, it went pretty well! I won't know for a couple of weeks weather or not I will get to participate with the team but at least I tried instead of just wishing I could play again. I'll report back later.
