It is called a Conguero Hi-Hat and the vid is here

It is not just for hand players, you can fit in-between your snare and hi-hat stand
and play on whatever you want with your foot, even play it simultaneously with your hat like Akira Jimbo.

Weh-Pah!!!

I like that idea for rythm. It's simillar to the way I play with my brother inalw's band once in a while on my drum kit.

As always the cowbell is what keeps the tempo together in Salsa Music.

That's when the timbale player and I give each other a break with those really nice long groove songs.

Even though I grew up Rock & Roll.

I'm multi cultured myself.

But this idea is great for all genres of music.

Thanks for your input Tainojim, indeed it is not just for latin players, The " Conguero " has a sister that is modified to attack from the top side and with that device I can play on the top of bass drums that are in the cocktail position, yes that means that it is an alternative to the ludwig type bass drum pedal, it also means that all the action that nobody can see now will be rendered visible. Coming to a drum set near you.

Yeah, that stick holder is sweet. You think it would hold a stick if it was on top of a HiHat... or would all the up and down movements likely knock them loose?

I am pretty sure the sticks will fall out eventually. I have thought a lot about putting them on the tops of cymbals but the hole in the bottom of the ones I am making is likely too big and it might come off when you try to use one of the sticks, I will probably make one with a slightly smaller hole in it just to try it, one problem is that there is a number of different types and sizes of "nuts" so it wouldn't work on every type of stand. If you want to be the one who tests the idea in action I will gladly give you one or 2 if you promise to upload some pics of it in your kit or better a vid to my FaceBook page or youtube. Other than that place to put the hand into a trap setup, another place is on a cowbell mount clamp for the edge of the bass drum. If you want to try a cymbal mount prototype, take a pic of your cymbal nut for me and put a ruler in the pic so I can size the hole to work well and send it to my e-mail. To tell you the truth it would be a huge help to me to get any pics of people using my stuff and I will probably give you one of my beater units as well if you thought you would use it. I have a plan that is going to put one on every kit...we'll see at NAMM next Jan.
