drumming dvd

Hey all, they way i have been learning drums in my almost 2 years experience ive been using a few books, freestyling, and a lot of youtube videos. but i wanna pick up a dvd, as i have never done so and i feel it could vastly improve me. lately ive been seeking more tricky linear fills and faster patterns such as 32nds and 32nd note triplets or sixtuplets. so if anyone has used any dvds that helped there fills please put all suggestions for me here, thanks

So have you learned all 40 rudiments and still want more?

Jared Falk hasn't failed my students yet. Check him out, he's an old buddy of mine.

Re: drumming dvd

i dont know if he has a dvd, but i most definitely know about him. i started drumming by using freedrumlessons.com and ive studied almost every lesson on it. i also love what there doing on youtube with drumlessons.com the quality of those lessons are amazing. i love how they also classify them by difficulty.

So does he have a dvd?

Re: drumming dvd

One of my favorite DVDs is "Musical Drumming in Different Styles" by Gregg Bissonette. It has many great fill, groove, and solo ideas. Most importantly, it has lots of great information on how a drummer should function in a band.

Another is Steve Gadd's "Up Close". In this DVD, he explains some of his classic grooves (including the iconic verse groove he played on Paul Simon's "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover"). He also offers some cool groove and fill ideas as well as advice for operating as a studio drummer.

Finally, Tommy Igoe's "Groove Essentials". This book/DVD combo is a must-own for all drumset artists. It starts simply with basic rock grooves and then progresses to funk/hip-hop/RnB, jazz, and world/Latin/Afro-Cuban grooves. Included are groove and fill ideas for each style, groove variations, and play-along tracks (minus drums) with included drum charts. IMO, this is the best product on the market for learning how to be a well-rounded working drummer.
