Double bass pedal vs double bass kit


Is it beter to have a double bass pedal than a double bass kit or vice-versa you decide

Great question!! I fought it too and went for dbl pedal. Only you can really decide though. For me, I really did not want to lug a 2nd BD around to shows. The dbl
pedal allowed for alot better placement for other gear. My 2 cents, take it or leave it. Have fun!

Wow, if I had a dollar for every thread we had about this. You should have used the search my friend.

Anyhoo, I used to have 2 bass drums on my kit. It was a pain to lug around and for the sound guy to mic up. It make double bass beats sound bigger, but not enough to warrant the annoyance. If I was to get a second kick now I'd get a 24" to supplement, or include in my current kit.

After SIX years of playing double bass pedals I played a two bass drummed kit.


I THINK I'M IN LOVE. I also played a perfect blast on his kit, so I'm currently playing my snare tilted towards me (usually close to flat).
