Drum product branding

So why do you play the certain brand drums or cymbals that you play and what made you choose these to begin with?

I've found that a lot of drummers stick with certain brand products even when they are not endorsed by the respective companies. Brand loyalty is a big thing and in some cases drummers won't even look at a certain type of product because it's not a brand that they're used to.

For example, I've been using Zildjian cymbals and Pearl drums and Vic Firth drumsticks. When I go shopping for drum stuff, I don't even look at other brands sometimes. These have served me well and I'm just familiar with these products. But of course this can be a bad thing too as I'm probaly missing out on some good products by other brands.

So.. what brands are you guys loyal to? :arnold:

anything I can get my hands on really...
I don't really have the money right now to be picky.. if I find a deal and it's decent then heck I'll go for it.

I think I'm more loyal to Zildjian than anything else ( I even have one of those Zildjian black t shirts). Why do we have favoritism for different brands you ask? I don't really think its because of quality or anything else. Some may argue, but Zildjian is the same as Sabian quality wise.. its the endorsements that make a difference. If you like a certain drummer and he happens to play Zildjian, which are u more likely to follow? My bets are on Zildjian..

So yeah, definitely I'd agree with you but I think the cause of that is because of drum heroes that support the different products and how its marketed
