Post your warmup routines here!

This thread is to post your warmup routine, whether it be for a practice session or a big gig..

here's mine
-stretch wrists by pulling back the hands and thumb
-wrist rotations
-stretch legs a little bit and calves
-ankle rotations
-short run or jumping in place for a min to get the blood flowing

now on to the kit!
-single strokes, slow to fast for about 2 min
-double strokes, slow to fast for about 2 min
-paradiddles, slow to fast for about 2 min
-double bass for 2 min
-groove, and go around to kit to jumpstart coordination

then on to the playing!

haha wow that's an intense warmup, looks like you could run a marathon after that...
anyway, i dont do anything fancy or specific routines, I just play some rudiments to warm myself up.. i also think it's more important to prepare yourself mentally and spiritually.. i go through the drum parts in my head before playing and really psyche myself up to play with a lot of energy

ww is right.. you need to psyche yourself up esp if its a gig.. but i also do pushups to get my heart rate going

don't think its going to be really beneficial to do practice work during a warmup.. a 5 minute warmup isn't going to give u more chops.. you just need to get the blood going so you can play at your full potential

full metal is on a distinguished road
you know this might sound weired but I think it helps you more to do a good longer warmup than just a few min.
I say that because when I was on drumline we would always warm up for 15-20 min before we did anything and we always did a lot of streaching and I think it worked really good.

also if you will strech out really good before you play a gig it will help you relax a lot even mentaly.

that doesn't sound weird at all.. a good warmup will most likely lead to a good practice or gig or whatever.. a lot of times people just jump into the thick of things and end up with an injury or stiff playing.. and then they wonder why.. warm up!
