Im basically looking to expand my horizons and get into some jazz. ive also heard that this can improve your playing overall in rock and whatever. what are some good jazz instructional books, cds, and dvds out there?

Ultimate Jazz Drummers Workshop by John Riley

also look into steve gadd's work.. it's great stuff for beginner and advanced jazz players

i suggest that you listen to a lot of jazz music and swing so you get the feel for it. In jazz, a lot of it is feel and all the technical knowledge you can get from books won't do you any good without the whole feel aspect.. good luck
