drum genetics


do you think there's a cap on how good we can becomem at the drums because of our genes? I know some people who sit on the kit for the first time and naturally just "get it". They know what they have to do even without being taught. Of course these freaks of nature are not the norm but for the rest of us how has genes played a part in your drummin development?

well yeah obviously some people are going to be better, but i think with a strong will and motivation, practice can make up for natural ability

Ive been playing for about 19 years now and I think I am good at playing but i never started out that way it took years of hard work to get to where I am now and I know I still have years of hard work ahead of me if I want to be as good as I hope to be some day.

I have known people that could sit down behind a kit and do some crazy things and they hadent been playing know time so it you keep with it you will get there it just takes time and hard work.

yeah i agree.. some poeple are just going to be better at the drums no matter what.. all you can really do is practice practice practice and be the best that you can be personally.. life is not always fair but you just gotta make the most of it
