I think I have gone thru all that on all of them, but I neve hit myself in the eye but not all that long ago I almost nocked myself out cold I hit my head so hard with a stick, I guess I was leaning over or somthing but for some reason I was a lot closer to the stick then I should have been.
I had a bruse on my forhead for about a week.

I thought I was out of the drumming game the other day, I was hitting a puntching bag and I hit down to low on it where all the sand or whatever they fill them with had settled and it pushed my wrist in really hard and I couldnt move it for about 2 days and it was super painful.

How do you hit yourself in the head with your own stick??? Is that physically possible?

Blisters tend to happen, but with continuous use of proper technique they tend to fade and/or lessen. They also seems to be a rite or passage. It tends to happen in the beginning months/yeats more often than not.
As for carpel tunnel, this definitely results from the use of improper techniquie just as it does for pianist and (as you mentioned) people who spend frequent time using the keyboard. Basically (and I do mean basically) what happens is scar tissue builds up within your wrist and eventually has to be surgically removed (Tommy Lee had this particular procedure performed on him 3 times).
So I would recommend studaying and practicing technique to reduce and eliminate the chances or risk or 'contracting' carpel tunnel S!
Good luck!

Yeah carpal tunnel is a horrible thing but what exactly is "proper technique" when drumming, playing piano, or typing on a keyboard? I know keeping your wrists stable and firm is a big part of it but is there really a sure fire way to prevent carpal tunnel?

I know with typing that it isnt so much keeping your wrist stablized as it is the postion of your wrist.
you ever see those pads you put in front of the key board that you let your wrist rest on. those are to keep your wrist in the proper postion for typing.

for drums and piano playing I really dont know other than making sure you have proper form while playing.
there is a corect way to play drums holding your sticks and with your wrist and hands in a proper postion. It is in most of your begning drumming books.

Yeah, but at the same time there are so many drumming techniques these days that change how far you turn your wrist and stuff. I guess with constant playing injury might be inevitable.
