As for Mr. Der, I thought I had a warped sense of humor. I guess mine is just a twisted one compared to yours.
| I have been known to toss out a twisted thought or two in my past. Now you have seen it first hand.
Truth be told, I have been practicing all my life and I am STILL slower than a dead guy. |

Re: Can you play the 40 Essential Snare drum rudiments? I can play all 40 almost by memory, my marching band instructor was a hardass and made me do push ups if i didnt play right, haha.
Favorite: Pataflafla, Flam, Flam tap, Double Stroke, Buzz Roll.
Least: Dont have one. i think all are important to incorporate into your drumming every now and then just to give it a touch of firey goodness. |

Re: Can you play the 40 Essential Snare drum rudiments? ^^
I love the Buzz Roll man.
Took me a while to get used to it, but when I did...
God, that was awesome.
I do it so much it's not even funny. |

Re: Can you play the 40 Essential Snare drum rudiments? I noticed that nobody has even mentioned anything about Quintuplet Rudiments. Lots of buzzing going on there. An all the great drummers have played this and no one has noticed this.
All 40 rudiments are equal timing 1/4, 1/8 and 1/16 notes. They don't show up anywhere as 1/3 and 1/5 notes. Not one.
Tisk, Tisk.
For you drummers that don't know what I'm talking about, check out my "FIVE COUNT DRUMMING" thread. Five Count Drumming

Re: Can you play the 40 Essential Snare drum rudiments? Yeah, I wish there were a few quintuplet rudiments, to give me a challenge. Cause it's always harder to play something that something else has come up with - everything I come up with is just easy for me, because it came out of my head and it's obviously going to be familiar to me.
Maybe a reason why there are no quintuplet rudiments is because they're not really common at all. |
