Dumb things you did as a beginning drummer

What are some silly and dumb things you did when you were a beginning drummer who didn't know any better?

Some of the things I did include:
-putting duct tape on all of my drums because I thought it looked cool and the dead sound was good
-trying to break my sticks while playing
-performing a "drum solo" where I basically just hit random stuff at random times
-not practicing before lessons

I'm sure my Drum Instructor could give you a list a mile long of dumb things I did as a beginner. (That was 30 years ago so it's hard for me to remember.)

Yeah, I used to play those solo's, packed my bass drum completely with quilting, my first crash was a pearl, yadda yadda yadda.

The only thing that the factory heads are good for are to cut them into muffling rings for your toms and snare. They work pretty well and are a cheap alternative to the Remo O's that they sell.
