Ebay....

Do any of you guys buy stuff off of ebay? You can find some good deals most of the time. For example, today I was searching around for a good K crash to complement my ride....I bring up the cymbals page and I see "K dark crash thin 17in" the buy it now price was 119$! Nothing wrong with the cymbal whatsoever! But get this, in the time it took me to find my dad (he's got the paypal account) someone bought the thing! Oh well, somebody got a fantastic deal. So, what experiences do you guys have with drum gear off of ebay?

I don't have any experience with drum gear persay, but I have purchased a recording interface second hand ($500 AU) and a brand new condenser microphone for $30 AU which has far exceeded expectation.

I use ebay to buy a lot of things and sell some old stuff and it works great. The only thing is to beware of scammers and if you're buying something big like a drum set make sure shipping terms and prices are clearly specified and set. Ask the seller a question if you have any worries or concerns.

I got the second half of my drumset on ebay.

It was a great deal but I would say just be warrie of just plain shipping period.
the guy I bought it from wasnt even a drummer he was selling the kit for someone else and he also shipped it.

the guy put the floor tom inside the bass drum and then put the bass drum head back on and well lets just say that the floor tom is longer than the bass so it messed up both heads on the bass and broke the hoop on there as well.

Wow, that just sucks man. Of course that would save space but it's obviously not something you can do with a drum. What an idiot. What did you end up doing? Did you tell them and at least get some of your money back?

no I didnt. I mean I told the guy off but he didnt write anything back so I guess he didnt care at and I had already had some probloms with him so I just wasnt going to bother.

Off the topic of getting drum eqipment on ebay I have bought a lot of other things including a brand new set of golf clubs and those aint cheep and have had no problems.

If I am going to order somthing thru them I always read the reviews that people have and see how they are.
also with videos, I get a lot thru them and if you do always read the reviews because it might be guy just recording them off of his computer and selling them.

you read what others have to say and you will know right away if they are worth dealing with or not.

but I would say dealing with ebay for drum stuff isnt all that bad I have got some other really cool things for drums on there and had no problems at all. I even picked up some drum banners like you see in a music store for tama, pearl, premier, and zildjian and they look really cool hanging over your kit
(FYI it also makes it look like you are sponsered )

so check out some of the things on there and just do a little resurch and you will find the right sellers.

Drum banners? That's pretty neat stuff. How much do they cost?

Ebay does have good deals but I just don't have the time to sift through everything and find something that I like. I also don't like the fact that the drums are used, and anything could be wrong with them. I'd rather just get something new where I know what to expect. Getting used drum gear just has too many variables that I don't want to risk. It's good for people looking for hard to find stuff or people looking for deals though.

I got the banners for like 10 or 12 $ each you just might have to look on diffrent days to find the ones you want.

Also for buying drum equipment a lot of the time people will tell you if there is anything wrong with and also it's not like bying a car where something could be wrong with it in an unforseane place with drums you will know real quick if somthing is wrong with it and if you dont belive the seller thenjust ask them to put more pics of it up to see what you are looking for.
