I don't think that the subliminal thing would work...

Besides, it is only subliminal if it is below your hearing threshold, and a ticking noise beside your ear would not be considered subliminal in the first place.

The only way to get good timing is consistent practice. It's a fact.

Listen to rap while you're practicing; that should help a whole lot.
