Re: What's your favorite gig you've ever done?

the best gig ive ever done was with the last band i was with. i was doing metal for a bit and ended up supporting entombed here in ireland in a big run down parish hall. Was the most memorable anyway.

Re: What's your favorite gig you've ever done?

I would say my two faves were:

1a. Opening for Blessid Union of Souls in 1999. Not because I like them or anything, but because I was in a college band with some high school friends, and we got to sound check/play on a national touring sound board with a nationally known engineer (my kit sounded stupendous) and because it was a huge crowd.

1b. Headlining the Newport Music Hall for the first time in 2006 with my current band. The Newport is kind of a big deal here in Columbus, OH, and it was probably the best show in terms of crowd/crowd response I'd ever played with this group. Plus, I'd always wanted to play there, having seem some of my favorite bands there over the years, and it was everything I hoped it would be.

Re: What's your favorite gig you've ever done?

Last year, I played in the rhythm section for the Northwest College Studio Singers at the Greeley Jazz Festival. The kit they had set up was a re-issued Fab Four set from Ludwig with a 20" bass drum. The cymbals were great too: 14" Constantinople Hats, a 20" Constantinople Ride, a 17' K Custom Hybrid crash, and a 22" Swish Knocker. It was a great sounding kit, and the whole ensemble sounded great that day. It was a truly unforgettable experience. The next night, my friend and I went to the After Hours jazz performance at the Regency Hotel in Greeley and saw (but unfortunately did not meet) the amazing Jeff Hamilton. Unfortunately, he wasn't playing: we really did just see him there. It was still really cool to be in his presence though...

Anyway... yeah... Greeley Jazz Festival last year; my favorite gig... you all get the point.
