Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has ever seen/found a silent practise pad. I work in an office and would really love to work on my hands when I have some spare time, except I know with my current pads I would annoy almost everyone in the room!

I realise that all pads will make some noise, but if anyone owns/has found one that produces significantly less noise than others I'd be very interested to hear about it!

Hey Mitch,
Unfortunately, most drum pads are going to give off a thud of some sort to varying degrees. This can be pretty annoying for the people around you. You could always bring a soft blanket or pillow to practice on. This will dampen the sound a lot and there will be minimal noise. You can also look into getting practice pads made of mesh.. These may cost a bit though.

Try placing a small towel over the pad...you'll lose a lot of the rebound, but you'll also eliminate some sound...

I used to just tap on floor. The carpet had been trampled enough to not deaden the feel too much. Give it a try.

If you tap on the floor though, make sure you don't have anyone living under you. Last time I was air drumming and pounding on the floor and the person living under me came up and gave me a scare.
