Re: Church band players

your welcome... actually they are made by the same brand... they just have larger dowels that help keep the cymbal sounding the same, but dampen everything else just a bit

Re: Church band players

You guys have to check out the Josh Dion Band. If you like Church drumming this guy has done it in a whole new way. I have never seen a band like them. Josh is the singer and the drummer. I saw them once in NYC and I have yet to find a band with as much soul as these guys. WoozyFly.com :: Free Internet Indie band promotion web site, Free online digital music distribution, Music video social networking if you go there you can see some exclusive concert footage live on March 12th.

Drummergyrl, that is very cool that you get to play with multiple praise teams, and sub at different congregations. I too fill in occasionally on Organ for other churches, and it's great to get to play with different people on different instruments occasionally. Don't be too disheartened about Church being your only gig right now. I've actually decided not to play out with bands anymore (except for an occasional big band job, on Trombone), I just can't get into the bar scene anymore, and staying out that late bothers me now too, but then I'm quite a bit more Umm!! lets say mature than you are. Good luck at college in California next year, I'm sure you'll find many playing opportunities there.

Re: Church band players

Yea, I'm a church drummer. And currently it's my main gig because my band can't find time to practice. I've been asked to play at another church but they haven't told me when so we'll see if that happens.
