well, i'd say your style as a drummer can be very important if you want to make it in a band, as style plays a huge part in the music industry, especially these days, when it comes to session drumming theyr really is no requirments to what you LOOK like, as long as you..shred on drums practically.

when i play live gigs with my band, ive been known to be an animated drummer, and its nothing to do with how well im playing (although i hope that plays a part) it's cos' i play really passionately and move around a lot etc, but to me drumming isnt drumming unless your enjoying yourself.

But yeah, your totally right, you dont have to drink a lot and trash hotel rooms to be classed as a drummer.
