Recently I was told that I don't look like a drummer, whatever that means... So in your opinion, what do you think constitutes the look of a drummer?

I think it depends but the image of a drummer is probaly a punkish playboy - like Travis Barker

so if you dont look like him people will not think youre a drummer.

I have to say that yes sometimes that is the case that people exspect you to look a certion way just becuse of what they see on tv or in music videos and I hate to say but that is not the case .

if you don't look like this then youre not a drummer!

I don't think there are any requirements as to what a drummer should look like. We all have stereotypes and sure some will be punkish like travis but there are a lot of drummers and the stereotype is different for different types of music... for example, ringo starr DID NOT look like dennis chambers.. so it all depends

Drummers are mostly known as "rebels" who are loud and obnoxious, who overplay during songs, and play out of turn during practices.

That's probaly why most people think of a travis barker type when they associate a drummer with a certain face.

its the MTV influence I tell ya, when was the last time you saw a nerdy looking drummer on mtv

of course id rather be a stupid looking drummer who was awesome than a punk who sucked..
