Hmmmm...I guess my pet peeve is a band leader who doesn't know where he wants to go in a song. It's my worst nightmare to hear the lead say, "Let's just wing it." You know, I also play guitar and it's a bit easier to fade out or even NOT play a chord and no one will pick it up but when the drums go awry, the whole d*mn world knows it and it not only makes me turn four shades of red with embarrassment, it makes the band look really unprepared and amateurish.

- lead guitar players who think it's all about them
- musicians who don't give fellow musicians grace for not being "perfect" like they are

I guess if I thought some more I could come up with more but those are the few that jump out at me. I guess anything that doesn't kill me will make me a better person. Here's hoping!

Good day!

Mike

My pet peeve is guitar players who feel compelled to walk on a stage, crank up the volume & pretend to be tuning while they know they are positively dazzling us. This in a time of dead silent electronic tuners. All the instruments should be tuned silently at least 15 minutes before show time. When the band walks on the stage, there should not be a single sound until the lights and the first note of the opening song hit simultaneausly. That's just far more professional.

I have a hi hat drop clutch fitted for that same reason ( i don't play double kick). It is real handy between sets in shows where it can be easy to rattle the hats by mistake.
Nothing worse than musos who have to fiddle on their instrument unless there is something genuinely amiss, that is for pre gig and the practice room (even then i don't tolerate it).

My pet peeves are putting two different brands of cymbals together Ex. Sabian and Zildjian. For some odd reason I don't like the sets that have one rack tom, a bass, floor tom, and snare (I don't know why).

Other:
Singers that act like they're the best thing to ever happen to music.

Sharing a show with a band that is full of A holes.
