Hi Everyone. This is a GREAT ARTICLE For Any Aspiring Speed Double-Bass Drummers...

“Ancient Exercise for Building Leg Strength Unknowingly Propels Double-Bass Speed Past 200bpm In Record Time…”

Did you know there’s a highly coveted “top secret” exercise that some of the fastest, most extreme double-bass speed junkies use to increase their kicks to a resounding thunder?

When I discovered this special leg exercise, I couldn’t believe how it changed my playing. My foot control and speed began to improve almost immediately. Instead of practicing for hours on end (only to make marginal improvements), my speed double-bass seemed to improve virtually overnight. It was almost easy. I never thought improving my speed double-bass could be so easy. And so much fun.

You see, the reality is, to be a great speed double-bass player you absolutely NEED strong legs. Now, I’m not just talking about having huge quadriceps from doing leg presses at your local workout studio (though that’s better than nothing). What I’m referring to is building uniformly muscular legs with an emphasis on developing your fast-twitch muscle fibers in your legs.

I know. Sounds technical, right? Don’t worry, it’s not. Just keep with me here.

Now here’s where things get interesting.

You can join a gym and circuit train on all the machines to build your quads, hamstrings, calves, ankles, gluts, etc. And there’s nothing wrong with this per se. But to join a gym is expensive, and you may not have the time. Not to mention, this “top secret” leg exercise I’m referring to is way more effective and efficient. Did I mention you can do it anywhere? And in many cases, 5 minutes a day is all you need?

Unfortunately, I can’t go into great detail regarding this “secret weapon” leg exercise in this short article today, but I will say that it IS one of the most important leg exercises any aspiring double-bass speed demon should know to develop (and maintain) his foot control.

You see, that’s one of the biggest things so many aspiring double-kick drummers overlook when trying to acquire this “thing” called machine-gun double-bass. They think that it’s all “skill-based” and requires the same type of practice habits for, say, learning fusion drumming, or something equally as technical.

But it’s just not true. Not totally, anyway. Why, you ask? It’s because speed double-bass is based mostly on power and stamina. And this is largely acquired by being in great physical condition…with killer strong legs, and NOT by sitting behind your kit for hours on end practicing dubious double-bass techniques that get marginal results at best.

So remember, mastering speed double-bass isn’t like practicing other types of drumming that are more “skill-based.” Speed double-bass is centered more on “power-stamina.” And this means conventional practice alone WON’T develop your foot control and speed the way you want it to. There are other factors at play. And you if you ignore them, or don’t acknowledge them… it’ll be to your peril.

Very interesting... but are you going to just leave us hanging hoping that sooner or later you'll post this supposed "top secret" work out? I'm going to take a wild stab at Tim Watterson's technique; heel-toe. Am I right?

Yeah, I've seen this sort of junk before.

I think I even signed up once and they just keep e-mailing you crap to try and sell you stuff, still, I'm not convinced this is spam, so enter at your own risk.
