Playing my first real gig... any advice?

hmm.. set up as much of your stands and kit before you get on stage, because the change overs are usually really short and there is nothing worse than panicing and setting things up wrong... you need to be relaxed. don't get drunk!

oh and some extra sticks at hand would be great.

btw... whats the difference between a gig and a REAL gig.. is it a big gig??

Congrats man! Try not to let the adrenaline take over. It's difficult, but you can easily get lost in what you're doing and stuff up or speed up.

And listen to LGG, that's some real good advice.

Don't take **** from anyone, get to know the other bands and have a blast!

Thanks guys I'll keep that stuff in mind. oh, and by real gig I mean at an actual club not a high school party or anything like that.

The show went really well. I set up the stands before hand and you where right there wasn't a lot of time to set up. My band played really well also, no mistakes, (excpet for our singer who were getting rid of). There were a lot of other cool band people there too that gave advice. Thanks for asking.

aww thats really cool, glad your gig went well. you'll find the more you gig, the more you sort of get into a routine and it all becomes a lot less stressful!

i would love to be in a band right now but i have no time...
