One of the greatest metal drummers?

i was just wondering what other people think of George Kollias...
This is one of my favorite bands, and this is my favorite metal drummer of all-time!!!

Watch these videos of him in the band NILE:

Yeah, George Kollias is fast as hell. I have a couple of their cds, but I do have to agree with lastditch. I listen to a lot of death metal and they're just really not my deal. I prefer death metal like Suffocation, Aborted, and Grave.

I love the crazy sh!t that is NILE!! But i also like the melodic death metal as well.. I'd have to say I like anything death metal when there is a good long string of double bass in it. (constant beat) *sorry in advanced if I didnt say that right* I'm self taught..NO LESSONS.. well anyway george is probably THE fastest metal drummers i have ever heard of...

I agree he is one of the fastest. The thing is it seems like it's one of the only things he can do. I know he is good don't get me wrong, but I really think that the speed is what makes people like him so much. I like George Kollias but Nile in general for me is boring (no offense) .

George has done nothing to stand out.Drummers like Dave Haley,Mario DuPlantier,Flo,Roddy,Kevin Talley,Andy Taylor...these guys all stand out.If I hear thier drumming I know its them...you know what I'm saying?GK can whale on some dbl. bass and grind with the best of them,he just doesn't sound distinct to me.

I like Nile too, but my fav METAL drummer would have to be Raymond Herrera.
