It looks like the purpose of the whole story was to learn how to sell more STUFF to unsuspecting and trusting kids. As a kid I might listen to it and think it was awesome. But then after I went-klunk--klunk,klunk,--thump-klack, on my brand new beginner drum set, I think I would begin to think that being Niel Peart might be 6 lifetimes away. Sadly most would probably end up throwing the sticks in the corner in a few days. But hey, who gives a dam, the music store would have made a larger profit-Right?? Thank God most of them are not that way.
