hmmm...well when I think of a "warm" drum,I hear a drum with a low, deep sound with little or no lingering sound(sustain) after you hit it.Like...Doon,Doon.A "bright" drum will sound more high pitched with a long sustain.Like...DINnnn,DINnnn.haha.To me,to achieve a good sounding "warm" drum that doesn't sound "dead" and is in pitch with corresponding drums is much more difficult. You can throw any coated heads on your drums and cinch em down and get a decent "bright" sound all day."Bright" is probably the sound of your drums now...or "dead".lol.Man,just remember, you get what you pay for.You know what I'm sayin?

Aw man,you could get the supergnarly superkick 2 for that...check it out.http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...0&src=3SOSWXXA
Or the equally popular EMAD from Evans.http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...ead?sku=447856
You gotta be careful though, the Evans have the muffle ring located on the outside of the drum for easy access. This makes it impossible to use conventional triggers.I guess some metal drummers like bright sounds.Bobby Jarzombeks kit is hellabright.Danny Carey's too.His whole kit is bell brass!

Ohh, wait, is powerstroke 4 exclusively bass drum head? i was looking at it for toms....maybe thats why he said it was so much :P

Yeh, I was thinking of the Evans EMAD (is EMAD2 better?) for bass drum head.
