Crazy setups

I've mentioned the remote-kick setup I sometimes use, and have just uploaded an old pic in the gallery as an example. See what you reckon.

What crazy ways of setting up drums have you tried before? I remember once using a kit made entirely of cymbals, which included one hanging vertically in place of the bass drum, so I could use the kick pedal. If you see what I mean.

I also like the idea of a kit consisting entirely of snare drums, but setup like a standard 4 or 5 piece.

I saw a pic of a pearl remote kick kit like that too, except it had two bass drums. The left bass had a double pedal on it, and the right had a remote kick setup so it could be placed behind the floor tom. It looked really cool, you could probably get some crazy tripple kick patterns going on with it.

triple kick... lol

Have you guys seen that one double bass pedal with like beaters.. I forget what it's called but it seems like cheating. You push the pedal down once and it hits the drum twice

Yeah, thats a dualist. It looks like cheating. They're sorta taking advantage of beginners with a "get speed quick" gimmick. And the tripple kick thing is just rediculous.

I wonder how exactly the dualists work, I mean I understand that as one beater comes back the other strikes, but to what degree of accuracy? For example, could you get some insane sounding kick patterns if you had two dualist pedals and used the heel-toe technique?

Haha, that's pretty ridiculous.
Has anyone ever tried one of these things? I'm curious as to what it would sound like. How would you control how fast or how slow the second beater hit? I would think that it would be really hard to play with a band or with actual music. This seems more like a show-off toy than anything else.

I've included a picture of the triple dualist... lol
Using this is like getting bumpers at the bowling alley..
