Okay fellow drummers....
How do you all feel about using metronomes/click tracks for playing live and/or practicing. Do they annoy you as much as they do me? What brand and model do you use? I own and have used the Boss DB-30 and one older/cheaper nameless model. That "tick-tock" quality of sound just annoys me. But I want to figure out something to use that has a sound type and quality that wont discourage me, yet allow me to lock in so I can try and make life easier on the worship leader at church.
One new item I've seen that is about to come out that looks interesting is from the Peterson Strobe Tuners company. It's called a "BodyBeat Pulsing Metronome" and might just be interesting enough for me to drop the hammer on a purchase. It can be seen at

Also, does anyone use a drum machine like Alesis' SR-16 as a click track?
