Re: Playing Faster

loosen up then...? Your wrists are what need to be making the movements, not your arms. as in, your arms don't hit the cymbal, but your wrist flicks to hit it.

Cool Thanx Man, I'll Try To Focus On That. On My Clicker, Songs Between 96-132 Are No Problem, But Once I Get In The 144-155 Range, I Feel Like My Arms Are Gonna Fall Off!!

Re: Playing Faster

Say you play hi hats on 1&2&3&4& in a really fast tempo and you start to get tired. Just stop playing the & counts untill you feel rested enough to continue. Or hit the hats and snare at the same times. Or if you are ambidexterous (sp?) switch hands. More wrist is used for fast movements. The arms are used to transport the hands and wrists to each drum or cymbal. After the wrists it goes to fingers and wrist for really really fast stuff like fast single strokes.

Cool! Thanx For The Tips Guys, I Will Certainly Focus On That. I Think I Just Use My Arms Too Much Instead Of My Wrists, And It's Pretty Easy To Get Wiped Out Doing That!

Re: Playing Faster

Yea, loosen up. And maybe you haven't been playing enough for your forearms to take that beating.

Are you playing with two hands on the hi-hats, because thats an important skill to learn.

Re: Playing Faster

I totally agree with juan on this one! Playing with two hands on the hi-hats can really up the tempo of a song and just sounds really cool!
