Bass Help

I'm a begining drummer, im self-taught. But one problem I still keep having is my feet. I'm always putting in or leaving an extra bass kick or high hat step.

Can anyone give me some advice or pointers ? Thanks

Minor adjustments to your bass drum and/or pedal might help. Do what you can to read up on the subject. Evans web site has some wonderful information regarding drum tuning. There is another web site listed somewhere in this forum which describes how to adjust bass drum pedals.... although it is centered around the pearl shifter pedals.

Just don't get discouraged about missing hits or adding them. I have been playing for over twenty years and still have the occasional double hit or missed hit. The key is building muscle strength and control. This only happens with more practice over time. It is better to work to a click track or some time keeping device.

Remember that it isn't the fact that a double tap or missed beat happens... it is how you recover from one. I make mistakes all the time and most people can't even tell that they happen.
