Drum-less dream track...

If your favorite band said they'd produce a drum-less version of your favorite song, which would it be?

Re: Drum-less dream track...

As in just get rid of the drum track or as in re-arrange it and essentially make an "acoustic" version of the song?

Re: Drum-less dream track...

Take the drums so that you can jam along! For example, let's say Rush provided you with an MP3 that had your favorite song on it, but with no drums...

Now... mic up your kit and run it and your iPod into a mixer and put on the headphones... now you are jamming with the band. Now you ARE the drummer for Rush.

For example:
That's me drumming (poorly) to a "drum-less" track I wrote.

So what I'm asking is if you could have any track without the drums to jam with... what would be your favorite song?

Oooh the song is cool, nice drumming! It'd have to be Knights of Cydonia... or Time is running out, both by Muse

I don't know what song, but it would be something by The Police. Stewart Copeland's a genius!

Good marketing ploy minusDrums! (and the modesty about your playing is appreciated...nice touch). I wasn't aware of your website before but I'll check it out. I used the jazz music-minus-one records when I was learning vibes. I think I'd use a rock version for drum practice.

There probably wouldn't be much of a market for my favourite tracks, but here goes: Ginger Baker's album "Horses and Trees," Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop and anything by Jean-Luc Ponty.

I record with folks over at Cyberjammin.com
They have varried interests in music... but I have found recording with them to be very enjoyable.

I prefer to do origionals from these folks than covers. But creating music is king for me.

Re: Drum-less dream track...

well, this makes me mad because 1. i don't have double bass, and 2. all my favorite band's drummers are to hard, but it would be cool to drum along with beast and the harlot, by avenged sevenfold
