Very professional Stan. If I ever had reason to create a website I'd try and match the quality of yours -- very easy to navigate, sells your skills well, includes great tunes. It's awesome how you get that pop-up reminder in the corner of your sample drum patterns to describe the beat.

What drums are you using? I love the way you've got the toms tuned -- very punchy. Does that sound come from the shells or the skins or both?

What do you call the cymbal to the right of your ride that's a combination of two cymbals layered on top of each other? I'm in love with it.

My only critique would be to change the description of your 7/8 jazz sample to progressive rock or something like that. Judging by the very first recorded track you can play progressive, alternative stuff, not just straight ahead tunes. I'm guessing you'd get hired for that gig, not a jazz session. And why not include a kick ass shuffle or is that not a popular beat in the newer rock world? Man I love the double bass work you displayed.

I know this is a long response, but you have inspired me! Can you please post something in my thread about "perfect timing"? I'd like to know about click tracks. Are they straight metronome beats in the head set or more interesting rhythms? Do you have a click track to practice with at home -- i.e. can you set one up with a drum machine or sequencer? You were using headphones during your sample clips. Did you have a click track going?

Hey guys cheers for the comments. I play a Sonor S Class with light maple shells. Shes a sight to see and amazing to play. The tom sounds are a combination of shells and skin. It doesnt take much to get them to sound good. The trash is a cracked china on top of a cracked crash. Nice and short punchy sound, good for fast grooves such as drum n bass. I was playing to a click for those grooves. I liken the click to playing along to cds, ive done that the throughout my playing and practicing, and would definitely say that has helped me immensely with the click. I will do another series of videos of grooves in a couple of months. Including solos, shuffles, maybe even play along to 'The New Caledonia' track on the site. That song covers a very eclectic group of grooves, always fun to play. At this stage though I was aiming at just keeping the site simple and straight to the point, but it is by no means the end and I will have some more goodies up soon, Thanks for your comments.
Stan
