Who on this site has used this combination for triggering your acoustic set and do you like this combo? Any input would be great as I am looking to purchase both for live performances.

In my opinion, that is one of the best combinations around, and has been for some time.

I was using the Alesis Dm5 with ddrum pro triggers back in 98.

I've been using mine for 10yrs. and no problems yet, i would highly recommend the 2 as a worth while investment. Get a good hard case for the triggers,those fine wires can be damaged very easily.I also have a full set of sm57's that i prefer to use as "backup's" and no more mic feedback or drums bleeding into each others, The sound tech's love'em !

Have you guys ever had the problem where the trigger senses your snare drum hit?


I only trigger my bassdrum and when I hit a farely hard hit on the snare, the bass drum trigger reacts. I have tried it all, velocity and threshhold and sensetivity.

When the threshhold high enough so that the trigger doesnt pick up the snare, then its WAY to unsensetive. I bought a new module but it is the same thing.

I have a dm5 and a roland td-3 and a roland trigger

You will want to really dampen the kick drum. This is a common problem that occurs when the bass drum head has too much movement in it.

Also, try putting the trigger on the floor-tom side of the kick drum, as far away from the snare as possible, and certainly not directly underneath it.

I have stuffed the bassdrum with 3 pillows and the skin tension is very high. And the trigger is also on the floortom side. It's still the same problem
