That's definitely a possibility. I also just noticed that only 15 people have voted in the poll; we could just be missing that demographic or have found a direct connection to drumming for 6-9 years and a disdain for polls.

i havent even started playing xP 1 MORE WEEK BEFORE I GET MY DRUMS!! as i said, i've always wanted a drum set, and im finally getting one, but what don11817 said is true hope that doesnt happen to me xP
I am excited for you Alec, I know how I was when I got my first set. It will depend on how much you enjoy playing really. The high school and post high school years are full of girl chasing and partying or hanging with friends so it is easy to get distracted. What I did (without even realizing it) was to hang with my friends who were all musicians also and practice and gig. This made me stay focused, and the girls chased us instead of the other way around.
