Re: Drumaholics

You know you are done when your wife tells you she is going off the contraceptive pill, instead opting for the rhythm method, so you present her with a heap of instruction material by Jim Chapin!

Talking Re: Drumaholics

Ha,ha, do'nt you love this thread!

Well, of course I am one, according to all the symptons described before.

As for the relationships, I noticed that my wife's "radar" gets extra sensative when she is at the gig I am playing and ( this happens quite a bit) some of the ladies in the audience pay "undue" attention to me.
With undue I mean, trying to make eye contact during play, and introducing themselves in the break, or/and stand really close , or ask if I would like her to get a drink for me!
Later I get questions from my wife like "what did she want" or "where do you know her from?" etc.

You can avoid all of these situations by becoming a bass player, then you only gaze at your navel (through your guitar) and the lack of social skills will further prevent you from getting into trouble.

By the way, I have only married once and that's 36 years ago!

Cheers and happy drumming

Harry

Re: Drumaholics

At least my little 5 year old brother says I am!
Every time he wants to play his Sponge Bob game, he comes in the computer room and if im on this site, he says, "Wow, your obsessed with drums" I say to him isn't that a good thing?
So, based on wat he said, Im a drumaholic, and proud of it!!!

Re: Drumaholics

You know you're a drumaholic when you assume everyone knows drummers are the best lovers because of our rhythm. Of course we are the best lovers; the problem is we shouldn't assume everyone knows.

You know you're a drumaholic when you like furniture made out of drums.

Re: Drumaholics

recently going on vacation, I was afraid, oh yes my friends, very afraid....of not being able to bang on something daily!

But, I took a snare stand and one of those Vater round red rubber head practice pads and 2 of those Hanzenfutz thingys for your feet and voila!

I mean, I'm still in therapy, but this helped me to cope for a week without freakin out!

Re: Drumaholics

I am beginning to dip my toe into drumaholicism. I dont listen to music in the same way anymore, i just listen to the drums or watch the drummer in a band. I listen to whats being played as in which part of the kit and then try to work out if i can do it.
