haha, that would kill me.
if im ever banned from drumming for a while, i just make beats in my head and air drum. or get a couple 20 gallon paint buckets and go away.

Here in New York City, it's going on allot. You can go to the parks and play your make up kits (weather it be barrels or wooden boxes) and some people actually liked it, some would even toss a little change into the hat. Creativity can go a long way. Ever watch STOMP? They are a large group that play all sorts of rhythm on anything from 55gallong drums to brooms. I love their beats and creativity. Check them out on YouTube some time.

Ya, and the Blue Man Group with their ABS tubes are a favourite of mine. I picked up some old rusty brake drums on garbage day one time. When it's not appropriate to play drums in the house I go into the garage and play beats on the brake drums with screw drivers. I haven't found the right beaters yet.

But yea drumming on ur thighs is a good way
to pass time.
My dad gets mad when I do though.
I had a project in science for reusing matierials and I made a drum set and won a contest and now I going into a news letter!!

Alright, lets get back on track here.
I went through the slapping the thighs and tapping the pencils at school and got allot of people annoyed.
Now my son keeps tapping his riffs at the dinner table and hands on everything.
Now my wife I and are the ones who get pissed off at him and give him the parent look. You know the type that says "Quit It".
But then I remember myself doing it when I was younger. So I just tell him please, of course with that parent look.

When my wife isn't around, we both do the tapping thing and exchange ideas on the drumming pads with the drum sticks. (No, not the chicken type) the Vic Firth type.

Sorry we got off track, but that's the way the forum goes.
