Re: who deserves credit for your initial start to playing?

My mom deserves the credit, if it wasn't for all the pots and pans she had when I was a toddler.

Re: who deserves credit for your initial start to playing?

My parents made me take piano lessons as a pre-teen. My dad was a fantastic player -- he could play by ear. Me, I had no talent.

After several years, my love of rock 'n roll and my lack of talent on the piano helped me speak up and say I wanted to play drums. They made me take lessons, and my only drum was a practice pad for a long time, but I made it eventually.

I took some piano lessons until I turned 10 or so. I never should have quit. I could be a badass by now, but I have no skill left from when I played back then. It's all gone

I wish my parents had started me out on drums, but it's still great to have had the piano experience.
