I have several. Pete Sandoval, Buddy Rich, Gene Kupa, Terry Bozzieo, Louie Bellson, Bob Taylor, Kevin Taylor and Thomas Lang. I think the best are Kevin Taylor, Thomas Lang and Louie Bellson.

I would have to say my idols are Daniel Erlandson of Arch Enemy and George Kollias of NILE
They are so AMAZINGLY AWESOME listen to NILE you'll know what I'm talking about..
And Daniel Erlandson is probably the best death metal drummer cause he has great feeling not just speed.. Speed is where george kollias comes into play.. haha 290bpm non-stop!!!
Although i have many favorite drummers and they can usually change depending on who i listen to but i would have to say that my favorite is neil peart (what a suprise). I love his work and not just because he plays a lot of notes, but, because his drumming fits rush's sound so beautifully. I cant think of any drummers that could fill the shows of rush's sound other than him.
My first, in the old days, was Lou Bellson. Lou is responsible for me using double basses all my life. He was the first. I think the very best today is Thomas Lang and Kevin Taylor. You tube Thomas and see for yourselves. Lou would still give them a run for their money today even as old as he is. He is one of the very best snare men of all time. You tube him too and see for yourselves.

Yes it is now time to tell you who my favorite drummer is : Steward Copeland,I try to take some of his style and use it on my own,also some of Hillary Jones. Im also working on the Purdie Suffle (Bernard Purdie).(smile)
