The drummer I am paying the most attention to currently is
Mark Zonder. He has been an influence since 1991 when Fates Warning
put out the "Parallels" album. One of my all time favorite songs done by
FW is "Monument."
Prior to Mark I was listening to Nick D'Virgilio of Spock's Beard.
yeah i wanted to see that show. i saw a picture of him on that show in a magizine the article said he was having trouble keeping up with the marching band drummers.
i have'nt been listening to a whole lot music right now,.Since reading MD magizine second to last issue and gettin shadows fall new cd i have to say jason bitter I like his approach to metal music and drum fills. He's really inspired me. that new cd is off the chain. but my favorite drummer in general since mudvayne is my favorite band i'll say Matt McDonough, but that might change i dont know.
If you love Benard Purdie,try to learn "the purdie shuffle" it's great, looks easy, but don't let it fool you it takes a while.If you get the chance listen to Babalon sisters from steely dan, Purdie
