I've been playing my drum set for 7 months or so, something like that. and well i've been thinking about getting a new snare, but idk if thats to early since i've only had my drumset for 7 months but i feel like buying a snare, thats around $130-$200.
that or a new double pedal.
so im asking you ^_^ what do u think i should get first, a double pedal or a new snare
thanks |

Re: what should i get a snare drum or double pedal i dont know whether you have a double pedal already from your post, but im going to assume you dont:
its up to you. the only advice i can give you is to get what you want more. if you want another snare, get that, it could help your creativity, but so could a double pedal. personally i would go for a double pedal, because i just love playing it, but i also hate not having an auxiliary snare. really its your choice.
if you only have 130-200$ id get the snare, just cause i would save a bit more to get a good double pedal. |

Re: what should i get a snare drum or double pedal I agree with butter in that only your wants are going to serve this question.
Perhaps you would be better getting your left foot in practise and upgrade the whole kit later. Perhaps you are excellerating well at the hands and you need a snare that can keep up. Perhaps you havn't quite mastered tuning your snare yet and all you need is someone with some knowhow to get it in check for you (I know i couldn't tune to save my life at that stage).
it's all up to you dude. go with your gut. |

Re: what should i get a snare drum or double pedal I would agree with Skin and butter.
But I would also say it depends on your style of music.
So I would say go with the double pedal.
You may not be happy with the snare you buy for $130. |

thanks | Maybe buy a different skin for you snare to get a little different sound and play with the tuning but i am sure you have played with that. It is your money but i would go double bass pedal and get another part of your body working and create another sound. There are actually some decent pedals for that price range and don't be afraid to look at pawn shops because you might get a higher quality pedal or snare whatever you decide. Good luck and let us know what you get. |

Re: what should i get a snare drum or double pedal Pearl makes the Sensitone steel snare drum.
I have one, it came standard with my Vision set.
I love it it is very accurate, can be tunned in any way, and has a very loud
crack. Sensitive too.
For $135.
And the double pedal I found which is amazing is the Taye PSK602 for $160.
I'll show you links if your interested. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
