Drum mutes, but they tend to sound a lot like an electronic drum set, but without the simulated sound... Try headphones, at least you won't hear your neighbors complain

If you are serious about getting an acoustic set there are drum mutes that are better than others, I know which they are because my drum teacher invented them in the 60's or early 70's
they are the ones that you want but they are a little pricey. You can find them on E-bay usually they come in a few different sizes and have a great response go to e-bay and type in
Sabian drum mutes Look them up and let me know what you think. SLINGERLAND

Just use headphones. Then only you can hear you. Unless your asking how to annoy your neighbors more! And then you just buy some mics, and a few amps and blast it!

Re: My electric drumset sucks

Your post was telling me you wanted to MUTE your drums IF you get an acoustic set putting on head phones your not muting anything I used to live in an apt. house in NY and I went through the same thing your talking about and used the mutes I told you about that's how I know they work so well. I just don't understand what you mean by saying I already have headphones have to do with muting the drums.

Hey man, yeah i agree with slingerland the sabian mutes are great they block out the sound real good, and they dont sound to me like ur on an electric kit. so google them and see what u think. choose sabian bcuz sound matters.
