Drum Teachers near Chicago?

Hey does any body know any drum teachers in the Chicagoland area. I live near wheaton/st. charles/west chicago. If you know any teachers in that area please let me know. Thanks!

Well, this isn't really that close, but The Drum Pad in Palatine is a good drum store managed and staffed by drummers. Drum lessons are spoken there.

Thanks, I've heard of that place but I didn't know they offered lessons. I might be able to get out there but it is a pretty far drive for lessons

Yeah. If it makes any difference, they've got a bunch of drumsets out there -- maybe 40 -- including Starclassics, Brady, Ayotte, Gretsch, Sonor -- heck, I can't remember everything they have out there.

Mayby I'll make a trip out there just to play on all those sets all day long

Although I know for sure ultimately want a DW once i get enough money.

Yeah, I'm tuned into DW too. Have you seen that solid snare of theirs? It's in my head.

Yes I have it sounds beautiful! The craftsmanship on it is phenomenal also.

If you haven't already seen this video it explains all the different shell types and how the affect the sound. It is really quite amazing what DW has done with drum making. If you skip to 8 minutes you can hear the demos of how much each shell type affects the sound.
