Bass drum trigger going of on a snare hit.

Have you guys ever had the problem where the trigger senses your snare drum hit?

I only trigger my bassdrum and when I hit a farely hard hit on the snare, the bass drum trigger reacts. I have tried it all, velocity and threshhold and sensetivity.

When the threshhold high enough so that the trigger doesnt pick up the snare, then its WAY to unsensetive. I bought a new module but it is the same thing.

I have a dm5 and a roland td-3 and a roland trigger

This is an eKit? Or is the trigger attached to an acoustic bass drum?

Wow. I hate to tell you this but I have no experience with triggers.

Try asking Tainojim or a senior senior member.

Or Bo. Oh. He answered.

My b. Carry on.

I have a pro 1-v bigfoot dubble pedal so its a roland trigger, as I previously stated.

Yes but is it a small trigger attached to an accoustic drum, or are you kicking a large trigger directly?

If its an accoustic drum your snare is probably causing the head to vibrate so much that its setting it off. Perhaps you need to fit your bass drum with a mesh head or tweak your tunings on snare and bass to cancel this out.

Also are you playing on a concrete slab or wooden floor? It could be vibration from the floor, in which case head to your local carpet shop, grab some of their throw aways and make yourself a new drum mat.

I assume your snare setup isn't actually touching the bass or pedals when you play.

Re: Bass drum trigger going of on a snare hit.

I have a drum carpet so it shouldn't be that. Do you think a meshhead or a muffle would help? cuz I got a ton of pillows in there to dampen the bassdrum.

How do you think I should tune the bassdrum to avoid vibration.

I should test one thing though, it can be the impact of the snare that is causing it to trigger, if I just hold it beside the snare and hit it, I can see if its the vibrations or the impact.

I took the trigger off of the bassdrum and hold it in the air. When I hit the snare the trigger triggered, is there something wrong with the trigger mick?
