Black Dirt On My Sabian B8 Set!

Alright!
I bought a Sabian B8 set second hand off ebay. I would like my cymbals to be able to glow and reflect my ugly mug while playing!! They are ok sounding cymbals, but they look like hell! They seem to have some Kind of black stain on the ridges of the cymbals. I do not know weather cymbal cleaner will get rid of these stains or not, so can anyone offer some advice? I have tried using Mr Muscle and polishing the ride, crash and hats (Which is my whole set) but that method had no effect. Also soap and water did nothing.

Would be very greatfull if I recieved some kind of advice xD
Dan.

It sounds like they maybe had moisture on them at one time. My best guess would be that the moisture oxidized the cymbal and caused the discoloration. I had a set of high hats that were like that and they had been wet (moving between gigs in the weather) and I was able to get some of it off but not all of it. Short of trying a paste type cymbal polish and maybe an electric drill with a buffing pad I am not sure you will have much luck at all.

Yeah the people that sold me the cymbals told me that the whole set had been in a cold room, just sitting about which is more than likely what caused it. Thanks mate, might try and get some cymbal cleaner then

Try Groove Juice cymbal cleaner that's the best I've used, be careful or it will take the Logo off.
