Christopher J is on a distinguished road

new, but not new

Hello, I really enjoy this site so thought I would engage. Have played for 45 yrs. 20 of that pro. Have owned Ludwig, Down Beat ( 1964 Joe Morello Model Oyster Blue Pearl), Premier, Pearl, and now Rogers, Big R. Latest purchase, a Gretsch COB snare, 1971 - nice, really nice. Have Ludwig Supra, Rogers Dyna, the Gretsch, and believe it or not, an Olympic, mint, 1960's bought in a hock shop for $20 Can. It plays nice, warm sound. Highly underrated. Highlite of my career, meeting Ella, lowest turned down Johnny Winter, most stupid, not taking Clarke Rigsby's offer for his Tempest Studio in AZ. Most uplifting, finally meeting Joe Morello, and having him John Henry my 1966 Ludwig snare. Yes, Virginia, there is a career waiting for you out there! You just have to grab it!!!
