It also helps with where ur drum kit is in ur house.
It would help if it was in the basement if u have one.
It just makes it better that u have a double kick pedal!

Re: Argh Neighbours

lol shut up jonny,

no we dont have a basement, i dont actually know someone who does, seeing as we dont get tornadoes, tsunamis, (many) floods etc. down here. The only thing we need to watch out for is fires and thats only really if you live in the country.

slingerland, they said they dont mind me playing between 5-8

slingerland59, yeah you and Damo are right, Ill hang up some fabrics for the walls to mute sound and il "borrow" some towels to put over my kit.

Thanks guys.

Good Deal at least it's a start, if you can get 1 practice pad from e-bay with shipping I paid
$20.00 (dollars) you'll find that you'll be playing much longer. Try putting your wallet on the snare drum that works pretty good to. Let me know. SLINGERLAND

Forget the walls, dude, its your windows and roof cavity that will be the problem.
Thats where 99% of the sound is likely getting out.

Re: Argh Neighbours

In my windows I put several layers of styrofoam sheets that I got from a dollar store. They are thin but they have a polished white finish so they look good. My windows are deep so I put scraps of real styrofoam insulation behind the pretty dollar store ones. I haven't had any more complaints from my neighbour...just my wife! It's only the 15 minute bass drum rolls that bother her because they go right into your stomach...ya...rock on!.

Re: Argh Neighbours

my kits set up in extention/extra room at rear of house, i work nights so get plenty of time to practice through the day, when the avrage joe's at work,it makes me smirk though when 10 -15 mins into playing i notice windows being closed at near by houses, towels great option though for latish playing,ringo-esc.

Re: Argh Neighbours

place heavy sheets of card-board with egg cartons or polystyrene sandwiched in middle, to be honest anything to dull sound duvets, pillows ect, then ask your mam if she can get you heavy curtains to hang then draw them over what ever else you've blocked window with.
