Angry Concerts are getting too expensive for the working class

Whats going on with the price of concerts.man. .Foo fighters at Milton keynes national bowl 55.15p per person or Hospitality package 195 whats that all about...
Kildare 199.50p man i love the band but that a weeks grocery man...some guy would have to work a month sweeping **** up! at Mc Donalds to afford it!.....the majority of working people are not going to be able to afford concerts like this when if you take the family. its goining to cost you the equivalent of a weeks family holiday in a caravan at Minehead Devon.....Get the prices down the world is in recession man.
You go to concerts know man its people in business suits sipping champagne...
Its exploitation if you ask me....

Saw Mike Portnoy and Yellow Matter Custard play Beatles songs for more than two hours at Durty Nellie's in Palatine, IL for $30. Not bad.

Red face Re: Concerts are getting too expensive for the working class

Portnoy of Dream Theater they are a good tribute band i have been told...A mate of mine H plays with a tribute band in the uk called Dizzy Lizzy a thin Lizzy tribute. I get a mention on there website for depin on drums with Brian Tattler on second guitar. Great guitarist and a great guy (Diamondhead) had a great night learnt the set on the way up the motorway big Lizzy fan so didn't have to learn too much...the other thing is there ant the big names out on the circuit anymore its all manufactured.

It saddens me to see the real original talent thats wasted and who never get a chance either because of class or just end up with no hoper bands playing the same songs as everyone else.
You can be a star today and never have to leave the bedroom through media.
The apprenticeship of rock and roll and hard touring has been replaced by Music colleges, Performing Arts courses and all the real talent has been snuffed out not enhanced and they have been re-programed into rank commercialized throw away music.
Brainwashed kids with no life experience conned into believing they will make it because they have a certificate in Music.

Like the story of the scarecrow in the wizard of Oz....the scarecrow already had a brain he just didn't know it or how to use it...but when he was given a degree/diploma he could do amazing things.

In the real world when your looking for a drummer or guitarist the last thing you want to know is what qualification you have its all about band experience have you gigged have you been in the studio have you got transport and the main thing is are you committed.....
Even street music today has been over cut and polished into a Diamond rather than what it is attitude a rough stone.

Re: Concerts are getting too expensive for the working class

MY son wanted me to go with him to see Johnny Winter last year at BB Kings.

I didn't go and waited 6 months for the DVD to come out. Yeah I know it's not the same but I got a much better seat than he did.

I got to see the Jimi Hendrix Experience for five dollars when I was a teen. It was the opening act here for the first time. The next day I bought the LP for seven.

I'm talking about the opening act for The Young Rascals at NYC's Waltman ice skating rink. It was like the British Invasion. Sitting up front row where members from the B.G.'s, The Rolling Stones, The Animals and so on...

The Monkees Tour was a while later, it still fumbles me today. Why would they put Jimi in the Monkees Tour? The Monkees were for teenee bopers.

The feelings are mutual "but" then you'll have a bunch of kid groupies beating the crap out of you.

Different strokes for different generations. That's what makes the world go round and round and round........
