Mesh heads?

So my neighbors recently began complaining that my bands practicing are too loud. In order for the guitarists to turn down their amps, I obviously have to turn down my drums. One thing I've considered is buying a cheap kit and putting mesh practice heads on it. Do any of you have experience with these? Are they too quiet to try to practice with amps at low volumes? Do they provide a realistic feel? Please let me know. Also if you know of any other better methods of quieting a drum kit please let me know! Thanks!

RTOM Black Hole Snap-on Mesh Practice Pads, no need to take off the heads.

Re: Mesh heads?

I Use Remo Silent Stroke mesh heads on my practice kit. They are very quiet and closely simulate the rebound of a mylar head.
