Rehearsal Spaces!

Hi Guys. Been a long time since my last post but I'm always lurking reading threads

I come to you all looking for information on rehearsal spaces. I am looking at opening my own rehearsal studio and I am doing a bit of market research.

If you have a spare 5 minutes I'd really appreciate you looking at this questionnaire Rehearsal Space Survey

I'm UK based (south east to be exact) so for our international friends some parts may not be relevant, but please still have a look as i'd still love your input.

Feel free to reply to this post with your thoughts on what makes a good rehearsal space. What is important to you - cost, location, atmosphere? Would be great to hear your thoughts.

Cheers,
Brass

Done with your survey; I'll take my parting gift now.

Just joking.
Best wishes with your endeavor.
Are you going to have monthly tenants as well as hour-lies?

Good Karma coming your way mate!

Thanks for the response, I have had quite a few now and the information is going to be really useful.

Once established I would hope to secure some standing bookings and longer tenancy agreements. The key will be attracting locally established groups.

Check out Nuci's Space in Athens Georgia - this is well run non-profit practice facility.

Wow that is quite some concept. My venture isn't coming from quite such an altruistic angle but there are certainly many great ideas to be taken from this.

I think the community work these guys do and the position they appear to hold in the local music community will be key to their success. This is an aspect I will be looking create and should secure a spot in the market.

Thanks again for the info, you are lucky to have a facility like this near you.

Yeah - it's a great concept. I have my own studio, but use Nuci's often went asked to play with a group or individuals. You should talk to them (email, etc) - they have built up to what you see now. This type of studio concept I believe could be done commercially also.

Good Luck!
